The Illinois Jaycees have launched the inaugural “Today We are One 5K Stronger” Virtual 5K to help support the organization’s charitable causes that are losing out because of the cancellation of other fundraising events.
The Virtual 5K is open to anyone, including Jaycees, families, and community members. As part of the 5K, the Illinois Jaycees will be providing a training program with health and fitness exercises for participants at all levels of fitness.
Participants can complete the event anytime between now and Friday, July 10, and can run, walk, bike, roller blade, or roll in a wheelchair to get the 5K done. To sign up, visit runsignup.com/Race/IL/Springfield/2020IllinoisJayceesVirtual5K.
Money raised through the event will benefit the United Way, St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, as well as organizations that receive support from local Jaycees chapters. For more information, visit the Illinois Jaycees Facebook page.
