The Palatine Jaycees are accepting applications from local community organizations serving Palatine residents as part of their annual Community Donations Program.
“Historically, these awards have ranged from $100.00 to $3,000.00,” said Will Hinshaw, Chair of the Program. “The requests for assistance have been for programs or equipment. We receive applications from many groups like Little City and the Bridge.”
“Organizations with specific needs should submit written proposals to the Community Donations Committee for consideration,” said Hinshaw. “Include the amount requested with a brief description of the usage for the funds.”
Organizations are required to submit an application with their request. The application is available on the Jaycee website or can be requested by emailing donations@palatinejaycees.org. Applications can be submitted electronically or sent to Palatine Jaycees, Community Donations Committee, PO Box 1517, Palatine, IL 60078-1517. Proposals must be received no later than Friday, April 15th.
Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and accumulate funds for operation of the Chapter and community donations. Included in these projects are the Fourth of July Festival (Hometown Fest), Christmas tree sales, Best Pizza Contest and others, which benefit the community directly and help raise money.
The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees, one of the nearly 60 local chapters throughout Illinois, has over 100 members and is one of the largest chapters in Illinois. The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 21 and 40 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community.
The Palatine Chapter holds their monthly general meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
