The Palatine Jaycees are accepting applications from local community organizations serving Palatine residents as part of their annual Community Donations Program.
“Historically, these awards have ranged from $100 to $3,000,” said Ellen Dugosh, Chair of the Program. “The requests for assistance historically have been for programs or equipment. We receive applications from a wide range of groups like Little City and the Bridge.”
“Organizations with specific needs should submit written proposals to the Community Donations Committee for consideration,” said Dugosh. “Include the amount requested with a brief description of the usage for the funds.”
Each organization needs to submit an application with their request. The application form is available on the Jaycee website at www.palatinejaycees.org/community-grants/ and it can be requested by emailing donations@palatinejaycees.org. Applications can be submitted electronically or sent to Palatine Jaycees, Community Donations Committee, PO Box 1517, Palatine, IL 60078-1517. Proposals are due April 14th.
Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and raise money for chapter operations and community donations. Examples include Hometown Fest (Fourth of July Festival), Christmas tree sales, and the Best Pizza Contest, each of which benefits the community while raising money.
The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees, one of the nearly 60 local chapters throughout Illinois, has more than 120 members and is one of the largest chapters in Illinois. The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 21 and 40 opportunities to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community.
The chapter holds monthly general meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
