The Palatine Jaycees, in collaboration with lululemon, are hosting a free yoga session and meditation to promote peace on Sunday, August 5th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Palatine Towne Square. Ambassadors from lululemon will lead the yoga session. This project is tied into the larger international Jacyee initiative, Peace is Possible.
“Peace in our world starts in our own communities and with individuals. Our goal is to bring people together people in our community from different backgrounds and socioeconomic classes to deliver the message that Peace is Possible through movement, meditation, and group activities,” said Ashley Soriano, project co-chair. “We will create the opportunity to learn the basics of yoga which provide an outlet to train the mind and body and create self-regulation”
“We invite everyone in Palatine to join in. All ages and abilities are welcome. Bring a yoga mat if you have one and wear comfortable clothes,” added Rachel Smith, project co-chair. “We see this event as a small but necessary step in creating an opportunity to help our community to find ways to collaborate to make peace in our immediate area a possibility.”
The purpose of the Peace Is Possible campaign is to mobilize young people worldwide to create awareness, advocate, take action and commit to an everlasting world peace.
