The chapter raised enough money this year with the Regifters Auction to send four in need to Camp New Hope.
The Palatine Jaycees held their annual Regifters Auction after their January meeting, raising over $2400 on behalf of Camp New Hope. Camp New Hope is a year around recreational experience for those eight years old and above with developmental and physical disabilities. Located in the central part of the state, the Illinois Jaycees have a longstanding partnership with Camp New Hope. Chapters statewide raise money throughout the year to help give kids and adults a fun camp experience.
Kicking off the Palatine Jaycees’ year, this popular project brings out past and present Jaycees for a fun evening and a good cause. Chapter members donate unwanted or unneeded items they receive over the holiday to put up for auction. Items this year included fencing masks, a llama cookie jar, a JEM and the Holograms holiday sweatshirt and a Patrick Sharp Blackhawks jersey.
Thank you to chapter members Martin van der Hoek, Brandon Stepanek, and Max Stepanek for emceeing the event and chairing the project.
