Our chapter has a champion co-rec softball team in the Palatine Park District’s C division.

The Palatine Jaycees are defending their 2016 division championship this year, and the team opened this season with a 7-6 win over Sons of Pitches April 23.

The slow-pitch games use a 14” gym (“mush”) ball, and women may use gloves for fielding. Rob Doty is our team captain.

Games are one hour long, and they are played in Osage Park on the north side of Palatine, 2076 N. Old Hicks Rd. The team plays Sundays at 4, 5, or 6 p.m. The remaining regular season games will be played April 30, May 7, May 21, June 4, June 11, June 25, July 9 (double header), and July 16. Playoff games will follow the regular season.

The schedule and league standings are available here. The chapter calendar also has details of each week’s game. Spectators are always welcome.

Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille, 60 N. Bothwell St., is our team sponsor. The players meet there after games, and fans are invited to join them.
