Creating Positive Change

Since 1957, the Palatine Jaycees has been a group of active young adults (21 to 40) providing leadership development and community service opportunities to its members. And, best of all, we have a ton of fun doing it! Involvement in the Palatine Jaycees is a great way to meet new people, build new friendships, learn new skills and make a positive impact in Palatine. We are a not-for-profit and not religiously or politically affiliated organization welcoming members of the Palatine and surrounding communities.

LEARN NEW SKILLS

The Palatine Jaycees is a civic organization that gives young adults ages 21-40 opportunities to develop leadership skills through community service. Whether you want to learn a new skill, lead, or just work to help improve your community, we have the projects and mentors for you.

Jaycees projects fall into four areas of opportunity: individual development, community service, international programs, and business development. Members can learn management skills, grow as individuals, and serve the community, both in Palatine and around the world.

Each member has unique talents to offer, and we provide the freedom to contribute them in any way that the member wants.

HAVE FUN

Membership in the Palatine Jaycees is an excellent way to make lifelong friendships. Social opportunities abound with ongoing events like our bowling league, co-ed softball team, and book club. We also host parties, game nights, outings to sporting events, pub crawls, and family-friendly events such as apple-picking.

IMPACT YOUR COMMUNITY

The chapter impacts Palatine through fundraising, donations, and events that benefit the entire community.

Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest gives Palatine its Fourth of July fireworks, parade, and entertainment while raising money that is given back to the community.

Palatine Jaycees Christmas Tree Sale has given the Palatine community quality trees for the holiday season for more than 50 years and raised money for the chapter’s activities.

What’s Your Jaycees Story?

Spotlight on one of our newer members, Casey, that jumped right in with both feet!

“I had lived in Palatine for about two years before I joined the Jaycees. My husband and I like to go to local events, and it felt like everywhere we went, there the Jaycees were! I have always been the type of person who liked to join various organizations, so I was on the edge of joining for a while. Finally, at the Fall Back Brew Fest, I finally took the plunge and signed up.

“Honestly, joining was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Everyone welcomed me immediately with open arms and encouraged me to get involved. I have joined other organizations where I have felt a bit on the outside or that I had to ‘earn’ my right to be accepted by the group, but I’ve never felt that once with the Jaycees. The Jaycees encourage me to thrive and allow everyone to promote their greatest skills.

“Since joining, I have been on committees, run projects, attended events, and just generally had a great time. Even though I dove in headfirst; with the Palatine Jaycees there is no pressure for your level of involvement. You can decide to be more on a leadership level or just attend at your convenience. Everyone knows that life happens, and they are there to support you no matter what. I can’t wait to continue growing and look forward what my future holds with the Palatine Jaycees.”

Joining Jaycees has been the best thing for me in my growth – as community member and professional.
